Customer Reviews

MehThey do what they need to do. Not too fancy, a little too long. They male my instrumentshang far away from the wall, so if bumped into they slam against the wall and bounce around. Still, off the floor is what I was looking for. The packaging was crap! The box they were in came so damaged that it was open, with a few pieces not even in their plastic! They weren't damaged but I wouldn't have been surprised if something had been lost just from the horrible packaging. Luckily everything was there. These are pretty good for the price, otherwise.4Quality has decreased drasticallyI own a woodworking business and our top seller has been live edge walnut slab guitar hangers. We were using these hangers on the slabs to hold the guitars. However, for a short time this brand was out of stock. Now that they're back in stock, we ordered 3 packages of them. I have had to replace the yokes for several orders that we'be shipped out because the welds on the yokes are breaking. These are poorly manufactured. Bottom of the barrel quality. Will not order again.1Pretty great, but one broke before installation. One of these stripped as soon as I tried to thread it, so it's no good anymore (see photos). BUT I'll probably order another set of these for the next room I set up. I'd rate this 4 stars if that one flange hadn't stripped. Overall, these are good. Good price. They seem sturdy. Check the angle of the hanger before you start putting holes in the wall, because you want the hanger screwed in as far as possible for the most stability. The further you thread it in, the stronger the mount. The screws they include are fine, but the anchors are cheap. You'll want to buy separate anchors if you use them. On looks: It would be nice if the flange holes were countersunk, so the screw heads didn't stick out so much.3These guitar hangers work great. All the hardware was included which was nice ...These guitar hangers work great. All the hardware was included which was nice and the set of eight was fantastic because many sets I found only contained a couple or one hanger making it really expensive to get as many as you need. We do have four guitars so we had plenty to hang those and any more that we acquire (and lets be honest that could happen at any time). The hooks are sturdy and hold several different types and sizes of guitars with no problem. We proudly have ours on display in our living room over our couch and they look great and are easy to get to.5One of the two broke as I was hand-tightening it, not ideal for very small or very heavy instruments. While Amazon has been quick to order me a replacement for this product, one of the two hangers broke as I was screwing in the Y-shaped guitar hanging component. I am a tiny woman with next to no upper body strength, so if the metal snaps in two as I'm hand-tightening it, obviously there's an issue with the product. I think the welding connecting the V part of the Y-shaped component to the I part (if that makes sense!) was weak. I also find the hangers very hard to bend to accommodate smaller instruments (like the sopranissimo ukulele I bought it for), so they have to hang by the tuning pegs, which isn't ideal. On the positive side, I had a remarkably easy time screwing the plates onto the wall with the included hardware. The wall anchors actually held up for once and went in smoothly! I pre-drilled 15/64" holes, and that seemed to be just the perfect size. Also, my other hanger mounted successfully, and Amazon is sending me a replacement for the part that broke.Because of the issue I encountered, I would not trust these to hold particularly heavy instruments.3Good, but would be great if all the bases had threads.I think the product is fine, and it's certainly a great price, but like another buyer, two of the bases came through untapped, i.e. without threads. I can take care of this, but many might not know how or have taps or a high-grade bolt to use. Still, 6 hangers for $20 is a great deal. Unlike other users, I have no issue at all with the quality of the drywall hardware.Note that the vendor responded immediately to my email and is replacing the two bases. Good stuff.4PerfectThese are perfect. I have seven guitars/basses hanging so an 8-pack was exactly what I needed. I mounted a length of 1x4 along the wall and then mounted these to the 1x4 without worrying about finding studs. I wouldn't use the drywall anchors with a guitar....As far as holding different style headstocks, most are held up with the hanger sitting normal, but for two (a telecaster and an ibanez) I had to mount the hanger at an angle. It holds great, I didn't have to bend them at all, and it doesn't look weird. For me, these are perfect. I'd give them more than 5 stars if I could.5Good value but doesn't fit all guitarslThe only thing that I have seen as a problem with is they work for some of my guitars but the yoke is too wide for the headstock on Martin, Fender including Strat and Tele guitars. The Tele slips right through and the Strats both rest on the tuner.Gibson and Epiphone are fine as are the Taylors.Bought these to put together a rack for the music room instead of a floor rack. They aren't anything fancy and the black color contributes to the plain look. Plain is what I was looking for. The yoke, post and base are all steel and the yoke and post are covered with black urethane foam. The yoke screws into the base and uses a nut to tighten the post. They are sturdy.I installed them on two pieces of 1 x 4 poplar using 3/4" screws and was able to space them where I wanted them without being restricted by the location of studs in the wall. They come with plastic push in type of hollow wall anchors however I wasn't comfortable hanging a nice guitar on a rack that might pull out of the wall. The hardwood with the right sized screws gave me the clean look I wanted with the strength to hold the guitars securely. Another advantage of this type of rack is that I can take it down and move it when I need to.Overall good value. I'll take a look at bending the yoke in so that it can hold the other guitars.4Cheap, you get what you pay for.You get what you pay for. I purchased 3 packs of these holders because the price was right. They were cheap, and well, the product is cheaply made too. I wouldn't buy them again, but I am not outraged either since they were so cheap. Here are my observations after having installed 6 of these things and been using them for the last 7 or so months:1. They work ok for large necked instruments. I have 2 Yamaha full size guitars and they hold them ok. Occasionally one of the guitars will get bumped and slide down the fork arm a bit and get close to resting on the tuning pegs, but generally it works alright for them. However my 3/4 size guitar that I purchased for my kids does not fit in these holders at all. Don't even try an electric guitar like a Fender Telecaster. It just slides right through.2. The wall anchors that come with these holders are absolute garbage! They have 2 major design flaws. The first is that the philips head screw slot that you are supposed to be able to use to "drill" the wall anchor into the wall with is flimsy and will strip out almost immediately. I learned this the hard way on my first one when I didn't pre-drill the wall anchor hole large enough. After drilling a large enough hole (not too large, mind you or the anchor will just spin during the second part of the wall anchor installation) I was able to get past this issue. However this is where the second design flaw comes in. The plastic that is supposed to give way in the wall and do the "anchoring" is thick enough that it doesn't give way before the drywall does. So what happens is that you get 3/4 of the way through screwing the metal screw into the wall anchor and instead of popping through the plastic and the anchor opening up, spreading out and allowing the screw to penetrate the remainder of the way, it gets stuck, and the drywall gives way. You end up stripping out the drywall around the anchor, thus making the whole thing completely useless. I created 3 anchor sized holes in my wall before I just gave up on the anchors and either searched for a wall stud to screw directly into, or in the circumstance where none was available I went down to the local hardware store and purchased some higher quality wall anchors and used them. My recommendation is that you throw the wall anchors that come with this product away when you open it up and go down to your local hardware store and purchase a pack of higher quality ones.3. The fork arm that comes out of the holder base screws into the base and hidden underneath the foam sleeve is a small nut that can be used to snug the arm at the appropriate rotation so that the fork is parallel to the ground. I didn't realize this during my initial installation and had one of the fork arms sitting somewhat loose in the base. This had the effect of stripping out the arm and base over time and eventually I had to replace the whole unit with a new one. Fortunately during the second installation I realized the little nut and was able to get a nice and tight fit between the base and arm. My recommendation would be make sure to use the nut hidden under the foam sleeve, it will save you quite a headache later.Overall I would not purchase this product again. The holders work (mostly) but the installation nightmare coupled with the fact that it doesn't work well with anything but a fullsize guitar make it not worth it. I would spend the extra money and get a more expensive one. However if the price is appealing to you and you can get past the issues with the anchors, and the size, then perhaps these will work for you.2too big for ukelelewhen I searched for ukelele hooks, this came up, then in the description, it says for ukelele, so I ordered it. It is far too large for a uke, the instrument is left hanging by the tuning keys which of course you don't want. The item itself seems fine, sturdy and padded, but the description is very misleading.4 stars because I can't use it but quality seems fine and I will get a refund.4
