    So Glad I Got This AlbumMy two daughters have really been enjoying this cd. My two year old claps along to Liza Jane, and my 4 year old loves ALL of the songs! I like that there are childrens voices recorded along with her voice because it gives a more interactive feel, and it encourages my kids to sing along too. Clever!! I was originally looking for something similar to Jewels "the Merry Goes Round", because they absolutely love that cd, but we've been listening to it waaay too much. I have the Pandorica app on iphone and Mitchells songs just kept coming up when looking for kids music, and I'd always think, "I wonder who this is, I'll have to get this song"..and it was ALWAYS Elizabeth Mitchell.We have lots of summer road trips planned, and I needed something we (grownups) wouldn't go bonkers having to listen to..over and over. Not to mention, we don't want anything too fast or hyper, as is often the case with kids silly songs. The songs are sweet, yet silly, like the song about "Frogs on a Log". We don't want them bouncing off the walls in the truck, this album fits that bill. This is SO beautifully done, and works well for kids AND adults. Highly recommend this album. We like it so much that I purchased "You are My Sunshine" yesterday as well.5a new favorite!I heard Elizabeth Mitchell, her husband, and their daughter being interviewed and singing songs from this album on an NPR podcast. I was instantly intrigued and logged onto Amazon and ordered a copy of the CD.I was not disappointed! As soon as the CD came, I slipped it into the CD player in my one-year-old daughter's room and we started bopping around to the music right away. I love the Bob Marley cover and also "Pretty Little Baby" the best. My daughter starts dancing whenever I turn the CD on, and loves it when I sing along to her.The songs are catchy, dreamy, and excellently put together, with harmonies and lilting melodies all mixed up together. My favorite part is the addition of Mitchell's little girl to the singing. I think this makes the CD all the more appealing for people with children.So, now I've ordered several other CDs featuring Elizabeth Mitchell singing songs for children. I am certain that we will not be disappointed!5great album!This is my kids favorite CD. I have probably listened to it a minimum of 2x a day for a year and we still have it (which is really saying something, because kids music usually drives me nuts). I love that all of the songs follow a theme (birds) and that there are covers of great songs. My three year old loves "Three Little Birds" and my 17 month old loves "Liza Jane". This is my go to CD for my kids and is the first thing I use when my little one is upset, as it calms her down right away.5Can't say enough good things about Elizabeth MitchellWe have a 7-month-old, and honestly, after about two months of the typical lullabies (though we did find some good ones on the Ellipsis Arts label), I was about ready to pull my lullaby-loving ears off. So I started searching for music that my daughter, my husband, and I would all enjoy - and through my research, found this astoundingly talented, beautifully voiced, cheeky performer. The great thing about this album in particular is the range - it's got fun, upbeat, catchy tunes like "Little Liza Jane" and "Who's My Pretty Baby," and softer, gentler fare like "Down in the Valley" and "If You Listen." She even does a lovely version of Woody Guthrie's spoken word "Grassy Grass Grass."Her music is wonderful - she has a gorgeous voice, and she backs up some of her songs with kids singing with her and her husband. They are a gifted bunch - and it wasn't long before we'd bought the entire group of Elizabeth Mitchell's CDs. I can't recommend them highly enough, either for new parents desperate for something they're happy listening to and singing along to, or for parents of preschool children wanting to find something their kids can relate to. The songs are great and the harmonies with the kids are great and encourages my own son to sing along. Fun album and I would say that I would listen to it even if I didn't have a kid now.5Wonderful alternative to popular radio musicMy children love music, but I don t care for the music you hear on the radio these days. A three-year-old child singing about sex and such? Not cute. I ordered a few cd s, this being one of them, and we adore it! This is everything I hoped it would be for us. The music has a great beat and it is easy to play along with our own instruments. All around great music for the whole family.5Sweet, uplifting yet peacefulI heard this kid version of "Three Little Birds" on Panerai and decided to invest in the CD. What a beautiful collection of music! The kids love it and request it. The messages are sweet and uplifting...peaceful but not lethargic. When I drop the kids off I find myself still listening to it by myself in the car even though I could switch to grown-up music.5Pure gold for all agesIf you're into whimsical, folksy, not-annoying children's music, buy every single album by Elizabeth Mitchell. When I stumbled across her music, I knew it was exactly what I wanted my daughter to grow up listening to. I love the acoustic, unplugged feel, but I also love that many of these songs date back decades (some of them much longer!). These songs are fun to listen to, but I also feel like my daughter is getting an education in roots music by listening to Mitchell's work. Her music is great for kids, but definitely sounds good to an ear of any age!54 years of constant play, and keeps going strongI can not overstate how much this album, and Elizabeth Mitchell's music, has meant to our family. We received this as a gift at my son's (now 4yo) baby shower, and we have played it for him nearly *every time (no exaggeration) he goes to bed or takes a nap. We've also augmented it with You Are My Sunshine. We have continued the tradition for our (now 2yo) daughter, and we call it their 'sleepy music'. Despite the thousands of times we've heard the songs (again no exaggeration) we have unbelievably not grown tired of it. When new or expecting mothers ask for what we've treasured most or would not do without, this CD is a go-to response.5Love this cd!Great bedtime. This is actually my second copy. My daughter listens to this every night at bed time. The 1st one got worn and scratched. Catchy but sleepy songs. I sing along almost every night. Never get sick of it. (4 years +!)5
