Customer Reviews

Basically worthless. Tested with Two of these Cables with Condenser Mic and Mixer with 48v requirement and neither worked. Please, do not make the same mistake I made and buy this cable. I got two sets of these along with a Behringer 802usb Mixer and the MXL Cardioid Condenser Microphone. These cables are what Amazon told me everyone else bought after getting that mixer and microphone. Sometimes there is wisdom in following the herd, but in this case it was no good for me. Neither of the cables I got worked for me. Maybe they just aren't cut out for transferring phantom power and will work fine with mics that don't need phantom power. I can't be 100% sure and can only tell you my own setup and how they didn't work for me. What little sound they did transfer, one of the cables would cut in and out if you slightly moved the cable. So in the end, these cables didn't work at all with my mixer or my mic and were of a general low quality. I ended up taking the mic, mixer, and cables into a local Guitar Center (they were nice enough to help me out even though I didn't buy my original mic, mixer or cables from them) and they helped me test out every aspect of the things I bought, because there is always the concern that it's one thing over another. It may be the mic or the mixer or the mixer misconfigured. But in the end, it was just these cables. So spend a little more and get nice cables. I ended up buying the cables from Guitar Center and their lowest end cable worked great. So you could go with the high end brand like mogami or even the lower end like monster and get decent results. But these will not work if you have any kind of similar setup to what I have. 1What a piece of garbage.Easily the worst cable I have ever owned of any type. It was basically broken out of the box (there was no real box, just using terminology). The cable would only work once in awhile. I had to disassemble it and found very loose connections all around on the male side. Luckily, I have a friend who is a musician and gave me a good quality XLR cable.0Don't buy this thing, please. Do yourself a favor and buy either a higher quality cable from here or go to Guitar Center if you have one. My friend told me they lifetime warranty their cables there. This one is a waste of time, money and effort.1XLR Cables Are Worth Every PennyThey work exactly as described. I can not complain. I highly recommend this for field recording. I personally use them for podcast interviews and when I record audiobooks. Professional quality. I bought two and they are a dime a dozen. Thank you, "Your Cable Store" for your XLR Cables!5Either this was only 5 feet long or I've grown a foot taller.I'm 5'-11" and this is easily almost a foot shorter than I am tall. I was planning on placing my audio interface between my two monitors in the middle of my desk, but cannot now, as I am short by a foot.Other than that, the cable has performed fine for me. I have it connecting my behringer C-3 to my Focusrite Saffire 6 and the mic is munted on a Rhode PSA 1 swivel mount boom so the cable gets some decent movement and so far I have seen no issues with this. Other reviews have noted that the cable tends to experience issues when it is actively moved, so I will be keeping an eye out for that.3A cheap cable, but you get what you pay forI purchased this for connecting a tascam DR-40 to dj systems at weddings. It does it's job, however the build quality is just so so. I have since switched to Canare XLR audio cables with Neutrik connectos and those are worth the extra $8. The connection is much better and the cable is more solid than these. I would not say to stay away from these cables, just know that there are better ones out there. These are about on par with what you would find at electronic stores for 2x or 3x the price however. I would say either get these or go for the Canare/Neutrik cables.3~ FANTASTIC ~ 5 STARS !!~ FANTASTIC ~ Microphone, l been in the Radio Biz for over 30 years, All stations used Electronic Voice Mic's , Recently purchased this mic for my own studio use.....and it's CERTAINLY the quality and sound .....All Profesional's will ever need, at a fraction of the cost ! 5 STARS ......All the Way .5Cheap, but cheaper.First off, I'd like to point out that mine was DOA. One of the wires on one end was not soldered on properly and broke off before arriving. I would have replaced it, and I'm sure Amazon would have gladly complied, but I got a used one from someone else which actually ended up being better, but more on that later.Pros:-It's cheap (not expensive).-Assuming it isn't defective, it would probably be a good pick for someone with a cheap condenser mic or some other XLR device.Cons:-It's cheap, and doesn't feel very solid, and soldering may be shoddy.-While, yes, it is a 3-pin XLR cable, it only uses two of them. One of the pins (negative, I believe) is shorted to the ground. Now, XLR cables have three pins for a reason. One pin is a positive, another is negative and the last is ground. The ground is the reference voltage for both the positive and negative cables. When entering the cable, the signals going through the positive and negative cables are (ideally) identical, but inverted. As the signal passes through and the environmental noise alters one signal, it will do effectively the same alteration on the other considering they are so close. When the signals reaches the other end of the cable, the controller can invert the negative signal, overlay the positive and negative, and the errors caused by noise will be fixed thanks to our good friend Physics. The reason I gave it two stars instead of three or four is that nowhere on the page does it say that it is only a two-wire cable, and the title may even cause some to wrongfully believe that all three pins are actually used as they should be.2Exactly what it says on the tinCable arrived quickly. The length is nice; not so much that I've killed myself tripping over it but still long enough for my multi-instrument set up. Cable itself has a nice weight to it and good material. I am happy to use this with my Steinberg and condenser mic.5This piece of junk will ruin your audio. Look elsewhere. You don't need much in a microphone cable. You need two things at minimum: strong hook-ups and clear audio transmission. Unfortunately, this cable was unable to deliver either of those things. I tested it (thankfully bringing a backup) out in the field on an assignment. Upon hooking the ends up to my RODE NTG2 and my Tascam DR100 MkII, the cable wobbled in the sockets. That worried me a little bit, but sometimes it doesn't really affect the sound too much so i flipped on my equipment and took a listen. As soon as I started receiving a signal, a faint but agonizing high pitched squeal began chittering in my headphones. I tried adjusting the cable but the squawking feedback continued. I didn't record, but even if the feedback doesn't make it into the recording, it would still drive me mad.I switched to the back-up XLR i brought with me. The feedback was gone. What a waste of resources, money and energy this thing is.1Perfect Cable For my Needs I needed this cable for connecting my Tonor condenser microphone to my computer. The microphone came with a cord, but I needed to connect it to a Phantom power box. This neat little cable I purchased with the power box, worked perfectly without slowing anything down. This item was shipped quickly (2 day shipping selected) even delivered on Sunday. I'm very impressed. 5Nice Inexpensive CablesJust ordered two for our microphones for karaoke. Arrived in great condition and we haven't had any problems with the sound quality. The cord is stationary, connecting our mixer to the microphone receiver. It's worked great for us this way. I can't say how they perform if the cord is moving around.Similar cords ran around $20 at our local big box store, so I say it's a worthwhile investment.4Not too bad...Don't be fooled by the three stars. While it's not a 5 star product, it works and that's what matters. I wouldn't suggest for professional use or where shielding needs to be at its best.3
