    Not just pattern scissorsI read many reviews of similar products and chose this one because of the number of positive reviews. I looked at several videos of people with "tube" channels, cutting notches on patterns and warning "do not use on your fabric". Why? I ordered them to cut seam match-up notches on vinyl coated faux leather and to notch the fabric to go around corners. They work fantastic! I no longer have to carefully use my scissors to carefully make notches in the fabric. One squeeze, with this notcher, an I have a perfect notch that cuts through the fabric with ease. I have no idea how they work on pattern material but for vinyl upholstery fabric, they are sharp and make perfect notches!5Great for marking paper patternsAfter using a pattern notcher at fashion design school I knew I needed one for home use. It's great for marking notches both on patterns I've traced & ones I've drafted myself. Keep in mind this is meant for use on PAPER and not fabric! The notch allows you to make a small snip when cutting out a pattern. This what the industry uses instead of the triangles on home sewing patterns - it's quicker & more accurate. I actually use it upside down so I can make sure the pattern mark I'm cutting is centered on the notcher to be as precise as possible. Works well for it's intended purpose.4Fashion students turn away - InvestIt is not very sharp at all! To be a pattern notcher it has to be very sharp because of the nature of the pattern paper: super thin paper + a dull notcher is a nightmare! Look for something more substantial that would be made with sharper and better materials. I have to fold a scrap piece of paper several thicknesses and place it on top of the pattern for it to cut well. Also, its quite hard to press down. Definitely not my favorite to use, and if you're a fashion student planning on making this your career, INVEST IN SOME GOOD SH*T!1Say goodbye to tedious notch cutting!I only recently heard about these tools and I m not disappointed! I used to use scissors to cut little notches for my patterns, saying goodbye to those tedious days with this product! Just cuts a rounded notch with one snip easily, I m very happy with this product. Just don t use it on other things than paper or it dulls out really fast.5Pattern notcherQuick delivery, but I haven't used it yet, so will update this rating once I do use it. But on second though I won't because I am sure its fine/great its like scissors, they will work.5wont cut complete notchesI bought this notcher in hope that it does what it was supposed to do. It will only cut the notch on the left side of the notch and leaving the right side only folded upwards on a post it note paper. O n heaver card stock it does the same but you have to pull the handles apart to get it open and still only folds over the paper on the right side of the notch. This is the first product I bought from amazon I haven't liked.1No more scissorsThis pattern notcher is unlike others I have used. It is my experience that they are generally not sharp and can't cut a piece of tissue paper never the less fabric. I end up grabbing my scissors and clipping the pattern. This is the first brand I used that works. No more scissors for this job. It was the rave reviews that sold me on this product. Thank you to all who reviewed this product I agree and I love it.5Handy tool to make pattern marking quickerThis pattern notcher is nice to use for sewing patterns to make marking the notches much quicker than using scissors. And with a busy life, who doesn't need to make sewing easier and faster!5Not sharp, do not recommendI usually get my notchers by another supplier thats local to me, but I moved out of LA and found their online prices to be too high, so I opted for this notcher instead. This notcher is dull, and I often have to try multiple times to get a notch. I have ruined patterns with this dull notcher. I do NOT recommend this. You want very sharp tools for patternmaking, and with this one you will find yourself pulling an wiggling to get a notch, which results in tape surgery to your patterns, don't do it!2Does the job unlike many othersThis is the one I've been looking for and to my surprise it really works and not only on card board but also on fine paper which is a bonus. The notch's width hasn't been mentioned anywhere but it's 1/16" and it makes a nice clean cut. Firm and slightly on the heavy side tool but the one you'd be happy with. Would surely recommend.4
